~ Celebrate The Year of the Dog! With tons of celebratory events (make sure you wear red!), attendees can immerse themselves in traditional Chinese culture and celebrate the New Year with a festival of sight, food, culture and fun! Enjoy the traditional Chinese Dragon Dance, Kung Fu demonstrations and live musical entertainment. The Chinese New Year is a 15-day event that starts with the New Moon on the first day of the new year and ends on the full moon 15 days later, so there is tons to do and see!
Chocolate Festivals 2018 - January - April - Varying times and locations.
~ In keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme, Chocolate Festivals pop up all over the District with amazing food, drinks and crafts! Don’t miss the Chocolate Challenge, where sculptors and artists compete to create art out of the delicious treat!
Intersections Arts Festival - February 22-March 11, 2018.

Rock n’ Roll DC Marathon - March 10, 2018.
~ Run for an amazing cause in the shadow of the Nation’s monuments. Includes participation for the whole marathon (26.2 K) and the half (13.1 K)
There is also a 5K race at RFK Stadium.

The DC Environmental Film Festival - Thursday March 15 - Sunday March 25, 2018.
~ Observe environmental issues and successes through cinema at this moving and influential event. Various films are showcased, focusing on climate change, animal activism, and politics in order to create a meaningful dialogue about important issues. Many of the screenings are free, the location offers the unique opportunity for films & filmmakers to reach national and international lawmakers and decision-makers. Be a part of the change!

Cherry Blossom Festival - March 20 – April 15, 2018.
~ Enjoy the beginning of spring with the blooming of the Cherry Blossoms. “A tradition that showcases the beautiful gift of 3,000 cherry trees that the city of Tokyo gave to our nation’s capital in 1912.” Many events go hand in hand with the celebratory three weeks.
CineMatsuri - March 18 - April 3, 2018.
~ Celebrate Japanese history and culture by viewing a screening as the Japan-America Society of Washington DC (JASW) presents the Japanese film festival, called CineMatsuri. The event will screen five recent Japanese films, reflecting the richness and diversity of today's Japanese cinema.
March for Our Lives - March 24, 2018.
~ In an effort to spread awareness about gun legislation, and “ demand that our lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today. “, thousands of people will take to the street in front of the Capitol and March. This grassroots event was inspired by, and organized by students whos purpose is to enact change, but also meant to honor those who have lost their lives.
Blossom Kite festival - March 31, 2018.
~ Witness the start of Kite season amid the backdrop of the falling Cherry Blossom petals! See amazingly creative kites with even more experienced fliers, as well as competitions and demonstrations to top off the event. Kites will be available for purchase at the event.
