“Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay while exploring DC. The 2 parking spots are behind the unit, and they were very helpful. The kitchen was clean and well stocked for cooking. There were plenty of clean towels and linens. The basement was a bit dark and had a low ceiling so tall folks (> 6 feet) may need to be careful.
The neighborhood felt safe. There was some construction in the area.”
“I’m not very picky, but even if you are, I think you’ll have a hard time finding something not to like about this place. Located super close to the Capitol Building, the walk there will take you through beautiful town house neighborhoods that really show the character of the city. Lots of good restaurants and coffee shops nearby, plus all the history and government attractions nearby. The town home was clean and cozy. The bed was fantastic. The neighborhood is quiet. Host was super responsive, though different people reply at different times, so continuity in the conversation is sometimes a challenge. Besides that, I loved this place and would stay again!”
“We had a good stay overall, but I want to share a more balanced perspective since reviews influenced our booking.
The location is a big plus – walkable to Dupont Circle, on a busy street, outside noise was manageable.
There are residents upstairs, and you do hear footsteps and movement. There’s a small patio, but it’s used as their entry, which we didn’t realize ahead of time, so it doesn’t feel private.
The unit is quite dated and could use a refresh. It lacks some of the character you often find in DC, and there’s quite a bit of decor taking up space, especially in the bathroom.
Positives: it’s well stocked, the washer/dryer is a great amenity, the bed was comfortable, and hosts were responsive.
Downsides: leftover food and condiments in the kitchen, physical key lockbox instead of a keypad, and some kitchen counter items that didn’t appear recently cleaned.
$399/night didn’t feel like a great value. Solid for location and basics, but expectations should be set accordingly.”
“This was a perfect location walking distance to Union Station and a quick walk to the mall. The grocery store was a block away and there were plenty of restaurant options. The apartment was clean and absolutely perfect for my mom, myself and my 2 kids. I would highly recommend this location for anyone touring DC.”
“This was our 2nd stay at the Cabin in the Clouds in D.C. and we loved it just as much as the last time. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet, and the space is clean, comfortable, and full of sunshine. It’s easy to get around, and we had no trouble at all parking on the street for the four nights we were there.
We’re Seniors and were able to navigate the outside stairs. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with any mobility limitations or for families with young kids.”
