From Light to Dark - November 8, 2018
~ Daylight savings time serves as inspiration for this one of a kind event put on by the National Gallery of Art. Enjoy talks, performances, and hands on crafts focusing on the role of light vs dark. Food and drinks are also inspired by the theme!

DMV Black Restaurant Week - Now - November 11, 2018
~ Show support for African American owned restaurants in the District! Includes an array of partners and a cocktail competition.

Colonial Market  - November 10-12, 2018
~ Attention shoppers! This one of a kind market and fair located at George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate offers dozens of vendors with an array of historical goodies! Learn and converse with colonial craftsman while enjoying the sights and sounds of the 18th century.

Ice Skating Guides 2018
~ Lace up and glide onto the ice at any one of the various rinks throughout the city.

Charity Walks in the District - Varying times and locations
~ Now is the season to get your giving on! Tons of charity walks take place this season in the area. Get some exercise for a great cause and enjoy the fall weather of DC!

Turkey Trots in Washington, DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia
~ In a similarly charitable fashion, burn some calories for a good cause while celebrating the season. Some trots support specific causes, others are just for fun!

Museum Shop Holiday at the Strathmore - November 8-11, 2018
~ Holiday Shoppers listen up! Over 20 non-profit organizations bring their museum gift shops merchandise to the immaculate ‘Mansion at Strathmore’ to showcase their artisan goods, while you get ahead of the game on the gift front! One of a kind items!

Veteran’s Day in the District - November 11, 2018
~ Honor the soldiers who have served our country, and celebrate American Veterans. Commemorating those who lost their lives, on the day World War 1 ended in 1918, the city has a plethora of excellent & moving events, remembering and admiring those who sacrificed so much. The perfect day for Monument viewings.

Gettysburg Remembrance Day Parade and Illumination 2018 - November 17, 2018
~ This wonderful ceremony commemorates the establishment of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery on Remembrance Day following the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. The Cemetery dedicated 17 acres to bury more than 3,500 fallen Union troops. Lincoln delivered his iconic Gettysburg address whose words still carry so much weight to this day on the very grounds.

Bethesda Row Holiday Celebration - November 17/18, 2018
Get into the holiday spirit at Bethesda Row where you can shop the season’s best deals from the area’s best retailers, support a good cause, snap a pic, and treat yourself to all the delights of the holiday season. ICE! 2018: Christmas at the Gaylord National Resort - November 16, 2018 - January 1, 2019
~ Not to be missed! This family friendly event is the perfect way to start the holiday season; the overarching theme this year is dedicated to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Enter the exhibit hall and discover a decorated Christmas town square, complete with holiday merchandise, a hot chocolate stand, Santa’s sleigh, and a carousel ride.

Six Flags America, MD: Holiday in the Park 2018 - November 23, 2018 - January 1, 2019
~ This winter, for its third year in a row, Six Flags transforms itself into a Winter Wonderland!

Melrose Georgetown Hotel Hosts Thanksgiving Dinner - Thursday, Nov. 22, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
On Thursday, Nov. 22, Melrose Georgetown Hotel’s signature farm-to-fork restaurant, Jardenea, will be offering a Thanksgiving dining experience from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Melrose Georgetown invites guests to feast on the traditions with an imaginative and conscientious twist including delectable purple cauliflower bisque, cast iron seared blue crab cake, slow roasted traditional turkey, coriander dusted Hawaiian sea bass and grass fed filet of beef.

Zoolights at the Zoo in Washington DC (National Zoo) - November 23 - January 1, 2019
~ This annual event is not to be missed! Tour the National Zoo like never before - under the warm glow of Christmas lights! Over 500,000 string lights ranging in color and shape, transform the Zoo into a winter wonderland!

BrewLights at Zoolights in Washington DC (National Zoo) - November 29, 2018
~ Dozens of the Nation’s finest microbreweries gather for beer sampling, in an effort to promote conservation! This annual event returns in Winter amongst the zoolights, and includes live music, animal demonstrations and of course, beer, make for a lovely evening outside.

Shirlington Light Up The Village  (Shirlington, VA.) - November 29, 2018
Taking place on Thursday, November 29, the festivities kick off at 6pm with a holiday performance by the children's ensemble of Billy Elliot by the Signature Theatre, followed by:
Tree lighting, emceed by NBC4's David Culver
Pictures with Santa at Hardwood Artisans
Performance by the Bishop O'Connell High School Choir
Horse and carriage rides (with monetary or non-perishable food item donations to Arlington Food Assistance Center)

Christkindelmarkt - November 30- December 2, 2018
~ Celebrate Bavarian culture and the holiday season at this wonderful event! The Heurich House Museum opens its garden to host 40 local artisans showcasing and selling their crafts to eager shoppers. Honoring traditional German Christmas markets, patrons are also encouraged to tour the festively decorated house and soak up some history amidst the fun and frivolity.
