Mardis Gras Celebrations in the District - Various times and locations.

Washington DC Independent Film Festival - March 4-8, 2020
~ Don’t miss this award winning event that showcases a variety of feature, short, animation, and documentary films by local, national, and international filmmakers. After each session there is a question and answer discussion, where you can interact directly with top executives and filmmakers!

Travel & Adventure Show 2020 - March 7-8, 2020
~ Nothing like planning your next vacation while currently on one! This awesome expo showcases exciting destinations, free getaway packages, wholly immersive activities and seminars on how to make the most of your time off!

The Francophonie Cultural Festival (Throughout March)
~ Experience and celebrate French traditions throughout March with various events commemorating the French speaking culture!
Over 40 countries contribute food, theater, children’s workshops, literary salons, and more - there is so much to see!

Women’s History Month in DC (Throughout March) 
~ Celebrate influential women in history by visiting one of the many museums and events happening in DC! 

Annapolis St Patrick’s Day & Irish Weekend - Various times and locations. Historic Annapolis, MD
~ Commemorate and honor Irish traditions, while celebrating in Maryland’s capital city of Annapolis. Events ranging from galas, bar crawls, the big parade, and more! If in Annapolis on the 17th (St. Patrick’s Day) don’t miss the festivities at Galway Bay!

2020 St Patrick’s Day Parades and Events in the DC Area - Various times and locations. 
~ Celebrate St Paddy’s day at one of the various events or parades going on throughout the District!

The DC Environmental Film Festival - March 12-22, 2020
~ Observe environmental issues and successes through cinema at this moving and influential event. Various films are showcased, focusing on climate change, animal activism, and politics in order to create a meaningful dialogue about important issues. Many of the screenings are free, the location offers the unique opportunity for films & filmmakers to reach national and international lawmakers and decision-makers.  Be a part of the change! Question and Answer discussions following the premiers give the event an interactive atmosphere, with an educational twist!

Cherry Blossom Festival - Peak bloom is estimated sometime between March 18-27, 2020
~ Enjoy the start of spring with the blooming of the iconic Cherry Blossoms. “A tradition that showcases the beautiful gift of 3,000 cherry trees that the city of Tokyo gave to our nation’s capital in 1912.” Many events go hand in hand with the celebratory three weeks. 

CineMatsuri Japanese Film Festival - March 20-April 3, 2020
~ Celebrate Japanese history and culture by attending  screenings as the Japan-America Society of Washington DC (JASW) presents the Japanese film festival, called CineMatsuri. The event will screen five recent Japanese films, reflecting the richness and diversity of today's Japanese cinema. 

Blossom Kite festival - March 28th, 2020 
~ Witness the start of Kite season amidst the backdrop of the falling Cherry Blossom petals! See amazingly creative kites with even more experienced fliers, as well as competitions and demonstrations to top off the event. Kites will be available for purchase at the event. 

Rock n’ Roll DC Marathon - March 28, 2020
~ Run for an amazing cause in the shadow of the Nation’s monuments. Includes participation for the whole marathon (26.2 K) and the half (13.1 K)

Spring Theater 2020
~ Take in a show and enjoy DC’s wonderful theaters all over the city - see link for scheduled performances. 

Mount Vernon - Various Events 
~ George Washington’s 18th century estate is not to be missed. Enjoy a “living museum” as you interact with George and Martha, and experience one of the many educational (and enteratining) events ongoing this month. 

Washington Redskins 
~ Attention football fans! Enjoy a game at FedEx Field and enjoy a slice of Americana!

Rock Creek Park 
~ Horseback riding, trails for hiking, biking, and exploring provide a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city! 

Washington Wizards or Washington Capitals Game 
~ Enjoy a basketball or hokey game at the Capital One Arena - Home to the 2018 Stanley Cup Champions! See Ovechkin wow audiences with his famous slapshot, and enjoy some local culture!
