Wake up rejuvenated in our stunning home in the center of the historic Shaw neighborhood. Exquisitely and lovingly designed with no expense spared or detail missed. Movie star glamour combined with D.C. history; this is quite the location for your DC stay. Beautiful high ceilings, an open-plan living area, and an unbelievable location!

The Space
Mid century meets Hollywood glam in our stunning, fully renovated, historic home. Originally built in 1888 by premiere architect Julius Germuller (known for intricate stone-work in the iconic DC Rowhouses), guests can experience a charm and history completely unique to anything else. 

We can comfortably sleep 10 guests in 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms as follows;
~ Sofa bed in the family room
~ King sized bed and full/double sized sofa bed in the master bedroom
~ Queen sized bed and full / double sized sofa bed in the second bedroom

Guests can turn the key, and enter a spacious living room with furniture boasting warm hues and the softest luxurious fabrics - perfect for slinking back after a long day of enjoying the city resting outside your door. With original artwork, carefully selected reading materials and decor; this is quite the spot to unwind - you may not want to leave!

Three TV's (living room, and one in each bedroom) come outfitted with smart streaming & cable; allowing guests who can't sleep without their favorite programs, the opportunity to stream to their heart's content (perfect for those traveling with families).

The fully renovated kitchen comes complete with everything one might need to cook up a storm. The veritable heart of the home overlooks the hustle and bustle of the city via an expansive bay window, and includes all new appliances, breakfast bar seating, and a lovely wraparound bench. Mosey over to the dining table by the living room bay window for a change of scenery, and an interactive space where folks can dine, unwind, and relax. 
The master suite boasts a king sized canopy bed, which adds shimmering style to the space. With a queen sized sofa bed in the same room, it is both comfortable and functional. Enjoy the en-suite bathroom with two rain shower heads - THE way to start the day!

There's a washer/dryer for your convenience and a laptop friendly workspace between the bedrooms, that overlooks the street for some good people watching.

The second bedroom has a queen bed and also has a pull-out sofa to sleep little ones, or an additional guest. Much like the kitchen; the second bedroom boasts views from every angle through its wall of windows (but shades are included for additional privacy). 

Guests will have complete control of the space - from the temperature, to cable TV, to an intercom system - making this lovely space your perfect home base for your trip to the nation's capital. For a breath of fresh air, just pop out front to relax with a cup of coffee or glass of wine in the wicker rocking chairs that overlook the hustle and bustle of the city-scape.

We are always available for any questions that may arise before, during or after your stay!  We provide a welcome tablet/Ipad inside the apartment, stocked with our local recommendations and favorites - all to assist with making your trip the best it can be!

The Neighborhood
Venture outside and in addition to the Shaw restaurants, bars, and nightlife, you are mere steps to main bus and subway lines for Georgetown, The Capitol, White House, Smithsonian, U Street, Adams Morgan, and more. 

Getting Around
We are a 5 minute stroll on foot from the Shaw/Howard Metro Stop and about 14 minutes from the U Street/African American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Station. 
Nearby buses, Capital Bikeshare’s, and Uber’s surround the area - 95% Walk Score!
Shaw, centered around U Street NW, has been the hub for African-American social, cultural, and economic progress in the nation's capital! U St is famous for it’s lively music scene and its smorgasbord of dining options. Foodies will have no shortage of choices; from Ben’s Chili Bowl to homemade ice cream at the Ice Cream Jubilee, there’s a little something for everyone.
The neighborhood is very safe - experience the nightlife of U St, and leisurely stroll back to your apartment for some welcome respite.

~ We want you to make the most of your stay, so we've partnered with DC’s longest-running city tour company Old Town Trolley Tours to help ensure an amazing visit, at the best rate possible! Sit back and relax as the finest, most highly-trained and knowledgeable guides take you through the city, to soak up the surrounding history.

House Rules
~ Strict NO party policy. Please note that smoking of any kind and drug use in or around the property is strictly prohibited (this includes outside spaces). If we do find evidence of illegal substances or marijuana use, the reservation will be automatically canceled with no refund. 
~ Strict NO pets policy. 
~ We insist that for group bookings renters are above the age of 25, unless agreed prior to making your reservation. (Families with children under 25 are very welcome). Due to fire code and insurance requirements the property has a maximum occupancy and additional guests must have our advance approval.
~ We may ask for additional proof of identity / address (passport / drivers license etc) and reason for stay such as work contracts or permits.
~ We may ask for an additional security deposit for larger groups or longer stays. 
~ Due to our tight cleaning schedules, charges apply for unannounced late check-outs. 
~ Exterior may be monitored by exterior cameras, there are no cameras indoors. 
~The neighborhood is a strong community and everyone looks out for each other, we ask that folks please be mindful of noise that could disturb in the early mornings and late at night. 
~ One parking permit can be provided for your stay. If it is not left in the apartment after your stay, there is a $500 replacement charge plus any parking fees incurred by the next guest as a result of the permit not being available. If the permit is missing on arrival please let us know and we will do all we can to locate it but we cannot guarantee it's availability. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for any parking fees, tickets or towing charges incurred as a result of a pass not being available. Please ask about suggestions for nearby parking options.
~ While luggage is expected, we strictly prohibit large items (including, but not limited to, bicycles and exercise equipment) being brought into the unit without prior approval.
~ If your booking spans 2 weeks or longer, we may require a “deep clean” following your check-out. 
~ Prior to you checking in, the property has been inspected to confirm there are no damages and everything is in working order.  If upon checking in, you discover something broken or not working, please let us know immediately.
~ Please be sure that ALL of the windows and doors are closed if the HVAC is running.
~ Please do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets.
