Our stunning fully-renovated 19th century rowhouse is nestled on a quiet side street by the U St and 14th st Corridors. It will be the perfect anchor to your adventures in the District! It is two and a half miles north of the White House, with convenient metro access, two outdoor spaces, huge picture windows, and nearly all possible amenities included;  guests can explore the city on foot & enjoy the history resting outside! 

Our spacious home boasts elegant interior and a darling outdoor space, secure/gated parking, and a convenient location near many of DC trendiest restaurants and bars on 14th St!  Stylish red brick and interior concrete walls, as well as new wood flooring, are adored by 19th century Turkish and Caucasian rugs. Objet d’art and mid-20th century paintings accent the space, producing a warm environment to spend time with the whole family. 

Ideal for a power couple on a business or sightseeing trip, we can comfortably sleep 6 guests by use of the below;
~ King in the master bedroom
~ Queen in the second bedroom
~ Queen sized sofa bed in the third bedroom/office

The most notable feature of the 2011 renovation was the creation of an open floor plan flowing from one end of the home to the other - starting with the darling bay window (perfect for people watching with a cup of coffee) to the private outside seating area at the rear of the home. Reds and browns create a cozy, sophisticated place for guests to unwind after sightseeing, while still having the option to spread out. 

The kitchen allows guests to oversee the on-goings of the home - with a raised floor, chefs will have the advantage of a bird’s eye view - perfect for keeping an eye on the kiddos while preparing meals. Brand new appliances and endless counter space will have even the least culinarily inclined hoping to whip up a meal or order take-in. 
There’s a dining table with seating for 6 (5 more guests can be seated on the sofa and alcove chairs), so guests are welcomed to enjoy a meal at home, but with the iconic U St and 14th Corridors just outside your door,  DC beckons! (14 St is becoming known for some of DC’s most revered restaurants, notably Kapnos, Barcelona, Le Diplomat, and Compass Rose). Additionally, the house is only 200 yards from the surprisingly affordable North Africa/Caucasian fusion restaurant, Maydan, voted America’s #2 restaurant by Bon Appetit magazine.  For those more interested in iconic landmarks and DC’s music scene than fine dining, Ben’s Chili Bowl, the Lincoln theater, and DC’s  most famous Jazz venue, the 930 Club are less than a ten-minute walk.

Just beyond the screen door lies a private parking pad, flanked by grape vines. If you are not using it for parking, it doubles as a fairy-tale like space designed for relaxation and tranquility.  
The living room comes complete with a HUGE TV on a swivel (with cable and smart streaming functions), resting above the gas fireplace in the living room; THE recipe for a cozy evening in!

The master bedroom also has a TV with smart streaming functions (no cable) and enormous 25 foot picture windows. Luxurious king-sized bed is perfect for 2. The lucky couple can pop out to the enchanting balcony (complete with seating) to cap off the royal experience. 

The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed. It’s slightly petite and extremely quiet, ideal for a sensitive sleeper. 

The third bedroom is a veritable work station/home office complete with a 30- inch monitor that guests’ laptops can dock into via an HDMI cable which we provide. For those who need to do work while in town, this monitor rests on an adjustable sitting/standing desk inside the bay window.  The owner used this area to work from home, but guests can enjoy 360-degree views while catching up on emails.   This work area is outfitted  with excellent wi-fi, a printer/scanner/fax machine and even a desk bike for those who want to keep their legs moving when their minds are hard at work!

Getting Around
No need for a car at this location! You can walk down 14th St and be on the White House steps in about 35 minutes! The National Mall, White House, Monuments and Museums are all within walking/biking distance, or just take the metro or (one of the many buses), and be at Union Station or Congress  in 20 mins!

The U St./African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Metro Station (Green & Yellow lines) is a 5 minute stroll from the home, so the entire city is at your fingertips!
Buses also run up and down U St, which is just a 2 minute walk away.

The home is 15 minutes walking distance to the Shaw-Howard Metro stop (Green and Yellow lines) and along the way the streets are teeming with restaurants and shops alike. 

Several Capital Bikeshares are located short strolls away, they offer bike rentals by the hour at excellent rates - a truly awesome way to explore the city!

The Neighborhood
The location is the epicenter of DC’s upscale dating scene. It is simply the place for thirty and forty-somethings! Right outside of the front door, you are on 14th St, and the U Street Corridor, the new place to be seen in D.C.; just minutes away on foot from all the fabulous restaurants bars and shopping that this hip neighborhood has to offer. Grocery stores, pharmacy and every other essential are just a few minutes’ walk from the home.

Interaction with Guests
We are always available for any questions or issues that may arise during your stay. We have a welcome ipad/tablet inside the home stocked full of our neighborhood recommendations, "must sees," and information on the art work and rugs inside the house. Notes

~ Strict NO party policy. Please note that smoking of any kind and drug use in or around the property is strictly prohibited (this includes the garden). If we do find evidence of illegal substances or marijuana use, the reservation will be automatically canceled with no refund. 
~ Strict NO pet policy. 
~ We insist that for group bookings renters are above the age of 25, unless agreed prior to making your reservation. (Families with children under 25 are very welcome). Due to DC fire code, the property has a maximum occupancy and additional guests must have our approval.
~ We may ask for additional proof of identity / address (passport / drivers license etc)
~ Guest comfort is our top priority. In order to ensure our next guests are greeted with a freshly stocked and cleaned apartment, there is a charge for late check-outs. 
~The neighborhood is a strong community and everyone looks out for each other, we ask that folks please be mindful of noise that could disturb in the early mornings and late at night.
