Stay in our fully renovated, extremely bright English basement in a Historic rowhome in the heart of Shaw! Guests will have all amenities at their fingertips, an awesome neighborhood to explore, and a charming secluded park nestled RIGHT behind the apartment. 

The Space
Our bright and colorful apartment rests in a lively neighborhood with shopping, restaurants, bars, and more! Guests can live like a well situated local and make the most out of their trip to Washington. 

We can comfortably sleep 5/6 guests by use of the below;
~ King sized bed in the master bedroom
~ Full sized mattress in the loft portion of the master bedroom  - perfect for kiddos 3+ (not suitable for infants)
~ Queen sized sofa bed in the living space. 

With no light lost, super high ceilings, and with the floor to ceiling windows at the rear of the space, guests can catch those rays while nestled in the safety of the warmth of the space. 

Guests will find a fully equipped kitchen with all of the essentials - pops of color contribute to the funky and contemporary feel of the space - a blend of industrial and mid century - any and all guests will find something to their preference! 

Interaction with Guests

Guest Access
The unit is not shared. Guests will have access to the entire apartment!

The Neighborhood
The location is the epicenter of DC’s music and dining scene, always the place to be seen in D.C! Walk around the corner and catch a wide range of music shows at the historic Howard Theater, or a few more blocks to the famous “9:30 Club”. 
A short distance in either direction takes you to the Right Proper Brew Pub, the Shaw Tavern, Bistro Boehm, Shaw Library and a bucketful of coffee houses, fitness centers and “pop-up” eating and entertainment venues. 
A few more blocks brings you the U Street Corridor and 14th St, just minutes away on foot from all the fabulous restaurants bars and shopping that this hip neighborhood has to offer. Grocery stores, pharmacy and every other essential are just a few minutes’ walk from the home.

Getting Around
No need for a car at this location! With the Shaw-Howard Metro (Green and Yellow lines) just steps away, you can be at the National Mall, White House, the Capitol, Monuments and Museums, The Wharf or practically any place else in the city in 20 minutes or less.  

Prefer something more active? Most central Washington DC features are all within walking. Several Capital Bikeshares are located short strolls away; they offer bike rentals by the hour at excellent rates - a truly awesome way to explore the city, the Potomac Tow Path, the Anacostia Waterfront, and nearby Virginia and Maryland!  .

Buses also run up and down nearby 7th Street, U Street and Florida Avenue, just a short walk away.

Notes

~ Strict NO party policy. Please note that smoking of any kind and drug use in or around the property is strictly prohibited (this includes outside spaces). If we do find evidence of illegal substances or marijuana use, the reservation will be automatically canceled with no refund. 
~ Strict NO pets policy. 
~ We insist that for group bookings renters are above the age of 25, unless agreed prior to making your reservation. (Families with children under 25 are very welcome). Due to fire code and insurance requirements the property has a maximum occupancy and additional guests must have our advance approval.
~ We may ask for additional proof of identity / address (passport / drivers license etc) and reason for stay such as work contracts or permits.
~ We may ask for an additional security deposit for larger groups or longer stays. 
~ Due to our tight cleaning schedules, charges apply for unannounced late check-outs. 
~ Exterior may be monitored by exterior cameras, there are no cameras indoors. 
~The neighborhood is a strong community and everyone looks out for each other, we ask that folks please be mindful of noise that could disturb in the early mornings and late at night. 
~ One parking permit can be provided for your stay. If it is not left in the apartment after your stay, there is a $500 replacement charge plus any parking fees incurred by the next guest as a result of the permit not being available. If the permit is missing on arrival please let us know and we will do all we can to locate it but we cannot guarantee it's availability. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for any parking fees, tickets or towing charges incurred as a result of a pass not being available. Please ask about suggestions for nearby parking options.
~ While luggage is expected, we strictly prohibit large items (including, but not limited to, bicycles and exercise equipment) being brought into the unit without prior approval.
~ If your booking spans 2 weeks or longer, we may require a “deep clean” following your check-out. 
~ Prior to you checking in, the property has been inspected to confirm there are no damages and everything is in working order.  If upon checking in, you discover something broken or not working, please let us know immediately.
~ Please be sure that ALL of the windows and doors are closed if the HVAC is running.
~ Please do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets.
 
Accidental Damage Protection & Guest Verification Policy 
~ We have partnered with SafelyStay Inc to give our guests and our homeowners added peace of mind during your stay with us! We know accidents happen so your reservation includes damage protection for you for up to ($1,500) of accidental coverage for contents and dwelling damage. For reservations longer than 29 nights, additional fees may be charged in order to extend coverage for the entire stay. We also verify the identity of our guests to prevent fraudulent or criminal activity.
