Description

Enjoy classic comfort in a cozy rowhouse that’s ideal for couples or solo business travelers. This romantic and stylish apartment is the perfect base from which to explore the District or relax after a hectic day. Nestled just blocks from the Potomac River, charming shops and some of the city’s best restaurants, this recently renovated home is also within walking distance of Georgetown University, The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Memorial and The National Mall. And there are several small neighborhood markets within two blocks to buy any essentials you might need. If you want to explore further, there’s public transportation, bike and scooter shares, taxis and rideshares.

The space
The unusual, multi-level layout is predominantly on the first floor of a c.1887 rowhouse located on an attractive block in the heart of historic Georgetown. Guests are welcomed by a beautiful designer-furnished living space filled with art and antiques. The living room, bedroom (queen bed), powder room and full kitchen are on the main level. The back staircases lead to a full bathroom and closet on the second level. Because of the stairs, the apartment is not suitable for toddlers and those with mobility issues.

The apartment’s original doors, wood floors, built-in cabinets, and gas fireplace mix with art and antiques and provides all the comforts of home.

Amenities include two closets with sturdy wood hangers and a hair dryer. There’s a fast and reliable internet system, a 32” Smart Roku TV and a collection of books for your entertainment. The neighborhood is usually quiet for productive work sessions. The drop leaf kitchen table that seats four is the best workspace, but there’s a hall table as well and plenty of lamps throughout the space. The apartment is cooled by window AC units and heated by radiators. The carpeting is organic wool and the Marmoleum® floors are made from 97% natural raw materials. Guests also may enjoy relaxing in their own private garden located behind the white picket fence to the side of the house.

A well-stocked kitchen has all the modern conveniences — Cuisinart® toaster and mixer, KitchenAid® blender, refrigerator, dishwasher, gas oven/range, Breville® microwave oven, a Keurig® single serve coffee/tea maker, utensils, plates, Cuisinart® and All-Clad® pots/pans and plenty of glasses. For your convenience there’s a washer/dryer, iron/ironing board and cordless Dyson® vacuum cleaner; and for your safety there’s a fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide/smoke detectors in the apartment.

The whole apartment is for you and is not shared with anyone else.  Street parking is available within our block, or the one above, with a District Zone 2 permit.

The apartment is a labor of love, a treasured property and important to the owners who live above and next door. They welcome those who appreciate architecture and design and being part of their lovely neighborhood.

The Neighborhood
Georgetown has amazing shopping, wonderful restaurants and so much history. Imagine a living museum, complimented with a small college town feel and you have Georgetown DC.
Reminiscent of old Europe, Georgetown is long considered Washington’s most distinguished neighborhood. Historic Dumbarton Oaks—and gorgeous Montrose Park, with its trails and tennis courts—are just steps from your front door. The neighborhood is peppered with the homes of Washington’s power brokers, alongside scores of shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants.
There is simply no visit to the nation’s capital like one that has its home base in Georgetown.
Stroll down the canal and experience the curious feeling of living amongst history while shopping for the future..

Getting Around
‘Uber’s’ and taxis abound in Washington, and bus stops within a block of the home offer an easy way to get around.
There are also two subway stops (DupontCircle on the red line and Foggy Bottom on the green and orange line) within a 20-minute walk from the apartment. There is a Capital Bikeshare at the corner of Wisconsin and O st,  8 minutes on foot from the home.

The DC Circulator bus runs (free at the moment!) every 10 mins, and can take you directly to Union Station (DC’s epicenter of the major sights.) The stop is at the corner of Wisconsin Ave NW & N St NW, and is an 8 minute stroll from the home.
